GeOCHemISTea brings geochemistry to life through three consistent segments: a guest introduction and career story, a focused technical discussion on a topic selected by the guest and a candid “Tea Time” reflection on what they have learned along the way. 

The goal is simple: reduce the friction that stops geoscientists from engaging deeply with geochemical data, interpretation and real-world application.

Sam Scher Bio

Sam Scher is the Director and Principal Geochemist at LKI Consulting Inc., where she develops geochemical and mineralogical solutions to support exploration, development, and mining decisions. Her work focuses on integrating geochemical and mineralogical data in 3D space to enhance orebody understanding and reduce technical risk across exploration and geometallurgical programs.

She has worked across both industry and consulting roles, with experience in exploration geochemistry and hyperspectral technology delivery, and collaborates globally with mining companies to implement practical, fit-for-purpose workflows.

Sam is also the founder and host of the GeOCHemISTea podcast, a platform dedicated to sharing geochemical expertise, fostering professional discussion, and supporting mentorship within the geoscience community.

  • 3D alteration and lithogeochemical modelling to support exploration, development, and mining decisions
  • Mineralization vectoring using integrated geology, geochemistry, mineralogy, and hyperspectral data
